Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add egg and vanilla.
  3. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired, then pour into a greased pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, cool before serving.

Notes

Ensure not to overmix the batter for a tender texture.
