Method
 

  1. Harvest dandelion roots.
  2. Wash the roots thoroughly.
  3. Chop the clean roots into small pieces.
  4. Dry the roots on a baking sheet or in a dehydrator.
  5. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  6. Spread the dried roots on a baking sheet.
  7. Roast for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally, until dark brown and fragrant.
  8. Cool the roots completely.
  9. Store the roasted roots in an airtight container.
  10. Brew the tea/coffee: Use 1-2 teaspoons per cup of hot water.
  11. Steep for 5-10 minutes.
  12. Strain and enjoy! Add sweetener to taste, if desired.
