  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method
 

  1. Whisk sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until boiling and thickened.
  4. Reduce heat and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate, vanilla, and butter until smooth.
  6. Pour into serving dishes.
  7. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing onto the surface.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use whole milk and high-quality chocolate.
