Delicious Chicken Baked Ziti

Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Fresh basil (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta until al dente, then drain.
  2. Mix cooked chicken, marinara, ricotta, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine pasta with chicken mixture. Layer half in a greased baking dish, top with half mozzarella.
  4. Add remaining pasta and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan. Cover and bake 25 mins.
  5. Remove foil, bake 10-15 mins until bubbly and golden. Garnish with basil if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, add a splash of heavy cream to the sauce.
