Ingredients
  

Chicken Wings
  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings separated at joints
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk
Frying
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Whisk together flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. Soak chicken wings in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator).
  3. Dredge each wing in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Shake off excess flour.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry wings in batches for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through (165°F/74°C).
  6. Remove wings and place them on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crispy wings, double dredge them in the flour mixture before frying.
