  • 1 pound pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish Optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan, add garlic, and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Whisk in flour, then gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream.
  5. Simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  7. Add cooked pasta and shredded chicken to the sauce and stir.
  8. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let stand before serving. Garnish with parsley, if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
