  • 6 cups sliced and peeled apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  3. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in melted butter.
  4. Spread topping over apples and bake for 40-45 minutes until golden.
  5. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream!

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cloves or serve with whipped cream.
