How to Make the Recipe
Now, let’s get started on this magical creation! Follow these simple steps:
- First, I cut up the Sponge Cakes and arranged them on a large serving platter.
- For a Castle Effect, I stacked layers of sponges on top of each other.
- There were three sponges on the bottom, three 1/2 sized sponges in the middle, and three 1/4 sized sponges on top.
- We used the Mini Jam Rolls on the corners of the base of the cake, and put the ice cream cones on top of each Jam Roll and one on the very top tier of the cake.
- These made perfect Princess Cake towers!
- For decorating the cake, we dipped the tips of each Ice Cream Cone in melted White Chocolate, followed by Sprinkles.
- While these cooled in the fridge, we iced the cake with pink frosting, which was just some of the Betty Crocker Frosting with a little food coloring.
- If you want, you can also frost between each of the layers, but I just iced one layer over the top for a Great Pink Castle.
- For a few finishing touches, we added some Purple M&Ms arranged like Flowers and a Door.
- When the chocolate was set on the Cones, I put a long skewer in each so they’d stay in place on the Cake.
- Finally, we added the Mini Marshmallows with toothpicks to create a whimsical look!
Pro Tips for Making the Recipe
Here are some helpful suggestions to ensure your cake turns out perfectly:
- Make sure to let the melted chocolate cool slightly before dipping the cones to avoid melting them.
- Use a variety of colored M&Ms for a more vibrant look.
- Consider adding edible glitter for an extra magical touch!
- If you’re short on time, you can skip frosting between layers and just focus on the outer layer.
- For a fun twist, try using different flavored frostings!
How to Serve
This cake is perfect for any princess-themed party! Serve it alongside some refreshing drinks or even a few Homemade Smoothies to keep the kids energized. You can also pair it with some creamy garlic pasta for a delightful meal that complements the sweetness of the cake.
Make Ahead and Storage
If you want to prepare this cake in advance, you can assemble the sponge layers a day ahead and store them in the fridge. Just wait to add the decorations until the day of the party to keep everything fresh and beautiful. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Trust me, this cake is so delicious, it might not last that long!
